01SPECIMEN — not a binding document
This document is a specimen. Its content and structure are final, but the entity that will publish Ralay is not yet registered: identity details that have no value yet appear under the “SPECIMEN” marker rather than as a number.
None of these details are fabricated. Wherever you read “SPECIMEN”, the information does not exist yet; it will be filled in as such on the day of registration, with no other change to this text.
For as long as this document carries this notice, no subscription is sold and no contract is entered into on its basis. It is binding on no one, and no one may rely on it.
- the VAT identification number, or the small-business exemption notice
- membership of the consumer mediation scheme
02What this page is for
It describes how an account is deleted in the Ralay application, published by Karukera Labs, nom commercial de Teddy Barbin, entrepreneur individuel (EI), Port Blanc, 97190 Le Gosier, Guadeloupe.
Deletion happens entirely inside the application, in two taps. There is nothing to request, no reason to give, and no one to write to.
What is collected, and for how long, is set out in the privacy policy. This page covers one thing only: how to delete, and what that does.
03How to delete your account
The path is the same whether you use Ralay to look for someone or to work.
- Open the Ralay application and sign in.
- Tap the “Me” tab, the last one in the bottom bar.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen, below the sign-out button.
- Tap “Delete my account”. The button becomes “Confirm deletion”, and a line appears underneath saying what will go.
- Tap “Confirm deletion”. The account is deleted and the application signs you out.
04Why two taps
The first tap deletes nothing: it shows what deletion takes with it. Only the second one deletes.
This is deliberate. Deletion is final, no backup reopens an account, and an irreversible action must not be possible by accident.
05What is deleted
The account is deleted, not deactivated. Everything attached to it goes in the same action.
- Your sign-in details: mobile number, email address, password hash, date of birth.
- Your profile: first name, last name, town, location coordinates, travel radius.
- Your profile photo, removed from storage before the account itself is erased.
- Your trades, your availability, your establishment and its registration number.
- Your listings, your applications, and the replies you had received.
- Your conversations, and the messages you sent in them, including on the device of the person who received them.
- Your notification tokens, your blocks, the reports you had written, and your end-of-job ratings.
- The state of your Ralay subscription, if you had one.
06What is kept, and why
Two things outlive the account. Neither of them identifies you any more.
- A report written about you by someone else: its text stays, the link to your account is removed. Otherwise deleting your account would be a way of erasing the reports made about you, and therefore a way of escaping them.
- A job you completed stays in the records of the person who hired you, who needs it for their own bookkeeping. It loses the link to you and no longer carries your name.
07How long it takes
Deletion is immediate. It is not queued, it needs no approval from us, and there is no window during which the account could be restored.
As soon as you confirm, the account no longer exists and your session closes. Signing up again with the same address or number creates a new, empty account.
Encrypted database backups may still contain your data until they rotate. They exist to bring the service back after an incident, never to reopen a deleted account.
08What deletion does not do
A subscription taken out through the App Store or Google Play is not cancelled by deleting your account. You cancel it from your store account, which is the only place that holds it: Ralay keeps no payment details and collects nothing directly.
Nor does it erase what you shared yourself outside the application, by phone, through another messaging service, or in person.
09If you can no longer reach the application
Write to [email protected] from the account’s email address, or quoting the phone number attached to it.
The request is free and answered within one month at the latest, as required by article 12 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
This route exists only for cases where the application is out of reach. When it is available, the button is faster and goes through no one.
10Your other rights
Deleting your account is the right to erasure set out in article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
The other rights, namely access, rectification, restriction, objection and portability, are described in the privacy policy and are exercised at the same contact address.
The French version of this document prevails.
